    According to the figures given in the table, years from 2007 to 2011 have witnessed the dramatic changes in people’s daily expenses. The percentage of expenses on food has decreased gradually, only making up 36% of the total expenses in 2011. However, the amount of money spent on clothing, entertainment and others has increased respectively by 9% , 7% and 14% .
    There are mainly two factors accounting for these changes. Firstly, the rising income resulting from economic development plays a significant role and a small percentage of income is enough to cover food expenses. People now can spend more money on other things. Secondly, along with the improvement of living conditions, the lifestyle experiences a considerable change and people begin to focus on appearance and leisure, which contributes to the increases on clothing and entertainment expenses.
    Based on the above analysis, we may draw the conclusion that people’s living standards are improving unceasingly from 2007 to 2011. With further growth in economy and more changes in lifestyle, people’s daily expenses will move in the right direction.
