答案                     The Importance of Learning Basic Skills
    In the picture, the teacher becomes so surprised and disappointed when one of her students questions whether the knowledge of multiplication she is teaching now will be out-dated in the job market. Just as the student in the picture, nowadays most people show their contempt for the basic skills.
    And many reasons contribute to this phenomenon. For one thing, it is the fact that we are living in a world of fierce competition that urges us to arm ourselves with up-to-date professional skills so as to adjust to the changes of the society and the increasingly demanding employment standards. For another, most people hold the view that basic skills may not be applied to the practical use immediately so that they always ignore the importance of basic skills which are fundamentally good for creativity and innovation abilities.
    In my opinion, you can do nothing with the greater opportunities if you are not equipped with such basic skills as reading and calculating skills. So we should enhance the learning of basic skills so that we’ll be better prepared for the further innovation.
