    There is a heated debate over voluntary blood donation. It is commonly accepted that donating blood is a glorious and noble act. For one thing, the supply of blood is always limited. So it is urgent and necessary to have the blood bank filled in case of an emergency. For another, helping those who are in need is a traditional virtue of Chinese people.
    In contrast, others claim that donating blood has nothing to do with them. They point out that a person’s blood is both limited and precious, and it is very important to one’s health. If they donate their blood to others, it is very likely to do harm to their own bodies.
    As for me, I hold the belief that donating blood is great. The society needs its members to share kindness and love with each other. It is advisable that everyone should make a contribution to society to make it better and better.
