M: Hi, Annie. Do you prefer to travel with somebody or travel alone?
W: Um...I prefer to travel with someone, (12)but on my next trip I’m traveling alone, because I’m looking forward to seeing whether I enjoy myself.
M: (13-1)Oh, is it the first time you’ve traveled alone?
W: (13-2)Yes, it will be the first trip where I actually plan the whole trip by myself.
M: OK. When you travel, do you like to follow a guide book or just do things without any planning?
W: I tend to be on a time budget, and I do use guide books—in general it will be the Lonely Planet—the same as everybody else.
M: Do you go to the same places as everybody else?
W: Yeah.
M: OK. (14-1)When you travel, do you usually like to have a longer vacation or a shorter one?
W: (14-2)Definitely I prefer to have a much longer one. And I think one can experience the culture better for a longer vacation.
M: OK. And the last one is, when you travel, do you try to stay away from other tourists or do you like to meet other people as you travel?
W: (15)I like to spend time away from other tourists, but I find that’s often difficult.
M: Right.
W: Yeah, unfortunately.
M: Well, anyway on your trips, I hope you have a good time.
W: Thank you very much.
