   The reform and opening-up policy has witnessed the increasing of urbanization rate. Along with the fast pace of urbanization comes not only the rich material life and convenient transportation, but also various environmental and social problems.
   The most annoying problem of urban development is the increasingly heavy traffic jam. With the rapid increase in the quantity of vehicles, it takes us more time to go to work. Urban air pollution, which is caused by the ever-increasing motor vehicle emissions, is another potential threat to the health of city dwellers. Although various measures have been taken to improve air quality, it is still not satisfying enough. Other problems, such as solid waste pollution, water resources scarcity, food security, are also the results of urban development.
   In order to solve the problems in urban development, it is imperative to coordinate the relationship between urbanization and industrialization and to promote the construction of smart cities. And new methods and ideas should be introduced to city administrators and planners to solve the contradiction between the improvement of people’ s living standard and the healthy development of urbanization.
