    In general, there are many reasons for the prevalence of this phenomenon. Some people want to express their good feelings, while some want to release stress. And there are still others who just have a poor public morality. All these lead them to exhibit such uncivilized behavior in public places. Such people just lack public awareness and basic social conscience.
    I do think it is high time we took effective measures to arouse people’s social conscience to stop staining the tourist sites. For one thing, we should educate people not to scribble in any public places. For another, strict laws should be enacted to punish those who ignore them. It is a long way to go, and everyone should spare no effort to protect the tourist sites.
