答案     People encounter difficulties and problems all the time. Some people incline to use their own knowledge and experience to solve problems while others prefer to ask people for advice. Speaking personally, I agree with the statement proposed in the question that it is better to rely on oneself than asking for help from others. I have the following reasons.
    Firstly, using one’s knowledge and experience to solve problems will improve one’s ability of problem-solving. Learning is usually most effective if it is related to solving some problems, so problems are actually opportunities for one to promote his or her ability. lf one always solicits help from others when a problem occurs, he or she is wasting this precious opportunity to learn something and may thus still need to turn to others for help next time. Secondly, using one’s knowledge and experience is also the most reliable way to address a problem. Others may not always be available; therefore, the expertise or experience one has is always the only thing that he or she can count on. For instance, if you are travelling in a foreign country where you might have an eight-hour time difference with your family and friends, you will have to cope with your problems by yourself because they are not always there to help. This point concerns me greatly because I will be studying in a different country very soon, by which time, I hope, I will have learned to deal with problems on my own rather than always seeking help.
    Of course, it is not realistic to totally depend on oneself and require no help from others. Other people may possess quite different expertise and experience from yours. Therefore, they may be able to provide different perspectives on and effective solutions to the problems. I do not deny the benefits of asking for advice. However, even if you decides to find help and advice, still you should first make full use of your own resources. If you realize that your experience and knowledge does not support yourself in coming up with a satisfactory answer, you can consider help from others. But it is equally important that you learn to adapt the advice according to your own situation instead of blindly following other people’s suggestions.
