答案    Nowadays it is widely debated whether academic degree holders should be better paid than other people. Some people believe that those who have received a higher education are entitled to a higher salary bemuse they have made more investment in their education. This opinion, however, seems untenable to me. I believe one’s salary should be associated not with what he has paid for his collegiate education but with the quantity and quality of what his work has produced.
Basically it is groundless to relate one’s pay packet with the cost of his education, higher education in particular. The rationale that underlies the ides that those who have put in more money in education should be better paid than others is the same as underlies the nonsensical viewpoint that with the same type of product, the higher the cost of production, the higher the profit. In the same way the higher cost of production does not necessarily result in more profits, one’s educational investment should not be taken as the only measurement of his pay.
On the contrary, one’s salary should be decided on the basis of his productivity. The unanimously accepted practice is that one% pay completely depends on how much he bas clone and how well he has done it. The more he does and the better he does it, the better he is paid, irrespective of his educational background. If, for instance, a skilled mechanic, though not a degree holder, is more expert at operating the lathe in producing spare parts than a graduate fresh from college, he has every reason to be paid more money as a reward for his expertise. In a word, one% salary as a parameter that reflects the weight of what he has done should not be regarded as a direct result of his educational investment. Those who have done the same work in terms of quantity and quality should be equally paid, regardless of their educational experience.
The above opinion of mine should not be taken or mistaken as underrating the value of the higher education. Although a higher academic degree should not be the basis on which to decide one’s salary, its holder does have a greater possibility of turning out better products or services than those with no or little higher education. Therefore it is advisable especially for college students to devote themselves to their studies in order to have a bright career prospect.

I believe one’s salary should be associated not with what he has paid for his collegiate education but with the quantity and quality of what his work has produced。
(Basically it is groundless to relate one’s pay packet with the cost of his education, higher education in particular.)。
