When choosing between options, one must make judgments about the quality of

问题     When choosing between options, one must make judgments about the quality of each option’s attributes. For example, if one is choosing between candidates for a job, the quality of relevant attributes such as previous work experience, college or high school GPA, and letters of recommendation will be judged for each option and the decision will likely be based on these attribute judgments. In life, we are all faced with choices of different natures and different types. Write an essay of about 400 words on the following topic:

    It is often said that life is all about choices,and the choices you make would not only give you the directions and guidance to your life,but also define you as who you are.
    Choice is a constant and non-stop process that we have to experience in every important turning point of our life. The school to attend, the major to choose in universities, the career path to follow,and the life partner to spend the rest of life,as well as all the major changes are essentially about choices. And when we understand this, we must accept the fact that choosing something means giving up other options at the same time. For example,in the choice of majors in universities, we may have different interests in different fields,or there might be a conflict between what we like and what we think will guarantee our financial security in the future. Then we have to face the choices and let go something when we do so. Another fact about choice we have to bear in mind is that there is not always one"correct choice"in a given situation. Since picking up something and letting go something always go hand in hand with each other, any choice comes at a cost. So one idea that we should try to avoid at all cost is that there is only one way to reach our destinations,and we can not make the wrong moves. In fact,as long as our decisions are made on the basis of careful analysis,we should be brave enough to face the consequences of our choices. Even when we make mistakes,that should also be simply viewed as lessons to be learned and the guidance for the future choice-making process.
    We also have to acknowledge the fact that something is just beyond our control, and is no subject of our choice, and the mere recognition of this would help us to understand and to live our life in a substantially better way. When we are faced with a situation which we have no power to influence, or when we are making decisions and choices on information that is not complete or even not accurate, we should be wise enough to accept the unchangeable and courageous enough to face the unpredictable.
    So the best that can be done by anyone is what the common wisdom summarizes "the serenity to accept the things we cannot change; the courage to change the things we can; and the wisdom to know the difference".
