    With abundant choices and easy accessibility of the online learning resources, Internet is playing an increasingly important role in language learning. Together with Internet, many other technologies-take voice recognition for example-are also acknowledged by language learners as effective means to enhance their language proficiency.
    The efficiency and effectiveness of the technology in assisting our language learning can not be ignored, especially in reading and listening, also known as the input part of language learning. The technology is now available to transfer written words into listening materials,making it easier than ever to listen to almost anything we want, which is also an indispensable part in language improvement. We are also empowered by the technology to find out the differences between the dictation we have finished and the original version in no time,saving us a lot of time and energy to do it word by word. The easy availability of the information link and background checking function of the Internet also helps us to get a deeper, better and quicker understanding of the reading materials at hand,not to mention the powerful tool presented by technology to do statistics about the vocabulary frequency as well as language difficulties so that we would have materials suitable for our own needs without feeling frustrated by materials that are above the heads of us,or repeating what is already below our current capacity.
    Thus, we have to acknowledge the room for improvement for technologies role in increasing our speaking and writing capabilities, which is also referred to as the output part of language learning. Technologies are already available to judge whether we pro-nounce the words, expressions or even sentences and passages in a correct and satisfying way, and the software can also be obtained to work out our vocabulary level in our writing automatically, but it remains a human task to judge whether the ideas presented in speaking or writing are of enough value. And we should also be aware of the danger involved for the language learners to allow themselves to become too dependent on technologies. For example, the efficiency of the electronic dictionary can gain its advantage in finding out the meaning more quickly, but when it comes to equipping the students with more reading and guessing practice, and forcing the students to take notes for future references, electronic dictionaries can not replace the traditional versions.
    All in all, technology can surly has its role to better our language learning, but it also has its restraints and potential problems. Only by combining the positive sides of the technologies with other learning tools and methods,can we really make full use of the language learning technologies and become not only effective language users, but also qualified candidates for culture communication
