     Nowadays many college students take a part-time job in their spare time, including some of my classmates. Considering both the advantages and disadvantages of a part-time job, I have no idea whether to follow the trend. Objectively speaking, taking a part-time job has both positive and negative effects on college students.
     On the one hand, a part-time job can make college life more meaningful. In college, students have much spare time. If they take a part-time job, they will have something meaningful to do after class. In this way, they can improve their practical ability and also earn some money to subsidize their study. On the other hand, a part-time job will affect their study. Furthermore, as college students are still at an impressionable age, they may be misled by some bad influences in society. For example, last month, one of my roommates spent all her pocket money that should have been used to buy reference books on fashionable clothes and expensive cosmetics just in order to please her boss.
     In conclusion, a part-time job is neither good nor bad in itself, but it depends on how we treat it. As far as part-time job is concerned, college students should think before they leap: they must consider if they can manage to strike a balance between study and a part-time job first --after all, students’ main task is study.
