Medical teams are being dispatched to remote villages in India’s northeastern state of Assam to deal with an out-break of malaria that so far has claimed at least 18 lives by official count. Estimates of the number of people infected range from 3,000 to 10,000.the head of the Red Cross Society of Assam warned that the situation is grave.
