A suburban Philadelphia high school was evacuated and locked down Tuesday morning after two intruders were found inside the building. Upper Merion High School was closed around 7:50 A. m. after school officials learned of the two unarmed men, Superintendent Meliasa Jamula said. Both men were in police custody Tuesday morning. At least one of the men was a former student and the school acted on directions by police, Jamula said. She did not know if any students had been specifically threatened. Classes were in session at the time and the school’s approximately 1, 100 students were evacuated, school officials said. Classes were canceled for the day as a precaution and to allow police to search the building, Jamula said.
