We learn from the passage that the prediction come from [br]
Britain will be the largest country in Europe by 2050, overtaking France and Germany, according to an official prediction. (14)The prediction comes from the Population Reference Bureau, a U. S, body which supplies data to governments and institutions around the world. (15) Britain will see its population increase from today’s 62. 2 million to 77 million, an increase of 24 percent. This will make it bigger than France which is estimated to be 70 million, and Germany which is predicted to be 71. 5 million citizens. (16) Actually Germany will see its population fall sharply from 81.6 million to 71.5 million because of a lack of immigrants, (16) and a far lower birth rate than that of Britain. (16) And it has already been the second oldest population in the world after Japan, with one in five of all Germans are over the age of 65. (17) The prediction also suggests that Britain will see its population increase over the next 40 years at a faster rate than nearly every other European country. (17) The extra increase of 15 million British people equates to the combined population of Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool. (17) Europe, in total, will see its population dipping from 739 million to 720 million by 2050 because of its low birth rate.
