US stock prices were mixed Friday, on the last trading day of the second quarter. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell more than 60 points, less than one percent, to 10-thousand-502. The broader Standard and Poor’s 500 index also dropped almost two points to one-thousand-224, while technology stocks were mostly higher. V-O-A correspondent Elaine Johanson reports Wall Street enters the second half of a very weak year for the U-S economy with cautious hopes for recovery.
    The major indices ended the second quarter on a positive note. The Dow Jones Industrials are up almost seven percent since March 30. The NASDAQ is about 17 percent higher. The stock averages are still down for the year. But this is their first winning quarter since the first quarter of 2000.
