The Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has said that Friday’s bomb attacks in the capital Abuja, (5)which killed 12 people, had nothing to do with the struggle for justice in the oil-rich Niger Delta region.(6)The rebel group Mend, which says it’s fighting for a greater share of Nigeria’s oil wealth, has been blamed for the attacks, but Mr. Jonathan said the perpetrators used the struggles of the Niger Delta to camouflage criminality.
