    Centuries ago, when people received love letters from afar, they would feel rejoiced and excited Now, love letters are mostly replaced by text message or phone calls. Some people think that letter writing will be discarded by time. I, however, think that letter writing will remain.
    First of all, letter writing feels more real than typing or speech-to-text technology. When we write across the paper, the texture of the paper and the shape of letters instantly send signals to our senses. We can actually feel the subtle reaction between our hand, pen and paper. When we read letters, the same feeling takes place when we touch the paper and recognized the handwriting. On the contrary, when we send text messages to each other, we cannot feel the texture of the pen and paper. Secondly, letter writing has an aesthetic function, which could not be replaced by technology. When we write letters, the way we structure the shapes, dot the "i"s and cross the "t"s tells us about the aesthetic attitude of a particular person. If we send texts, the fonts of letters are finite, and hardly individualized.
    In conclusion, despite the ever changing communication technology, letter writing will not disappear. It will stay as an important channel to connect feelings and an aesthetic way to express oneself.
