    A friend is like a flower,
    A rose to be exact,
    Or maybe like a brand new gate
    That never comes unlatched.
    A friend is like an owl,
    Both beautiful and wise.
    Or perhaps a friend is like a ghost,
    Whose spirit never dies.
    A friend is like a heart that goes
    Strong until the end.
    Where would we be in this world
    If we didn’t have a friend.

答案     This poem talks about the eternal topic—friendship. Just as the poet said, friends are as beautiful as rose and as wise as owl, whose company and guidance are essential to our life.
    A friend is like a brand new gate that never comes unlatched. That is to say no friendship is open to us unless we unlock it. The key to open and maintain it is sincerity, tolerance and care, while egoism is the lock that shuts it forever.
    A friend is like a ghost whose spirit never dies. In other words, a friend’s influence to us is profound and lasting. A good friend is beneficial to us lifelong while a bad friend would mislead us like a dark cloud that never clears up. So we must be careful in choosing friends.
    A friend is like a heart that goes strong until the end. Friends are as important as heart to us. When we are in adversity, it is friends who support us; when we are happy, it is friends who share our enjoyment; when we are in sorrow, it is friends who comfort us.
