You will miss smiles and brief conversations with people when you shop or dine in a restaurant. Do not think it is because Americans are in such a hurry that they are unfriendly.      Americans who live in cities such as New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles, often think that everyone is equally in a hurry to get things done.
