   We feel very pleased to have so many British friends attending our reception this evening. Paralleling the continuous development of friendly relations between our two countries, Sino-British trade has increased very rapidly in recent years. Let me give an example: last year we exported a hundred million pounds’ worth of agricultural and light-industrial products to your country and imported the same value of machinery products from your country. This year so far we have already exported and imported twice that. As you know, China is going to open her door still wider and I’m sure that the trade between our two countries will be still more splendid in the future.
