    Great Golden Lake, in Taining Global Geopark, is located in Taining County of northwestern Fujian Province. It includes five scenic areas. Golden Lake, Shangqing Stream, Zhuangyuan Rock, Arhat Mountain and Taining Ancient Town.
    As a beautiful lake and mountain area, Golden Lake has received admiration from Buddhists through the numerous natural statues of Buddha on water. Shangqing Stream, Shangqing Wonderland, is hidden in the remote mountains and dingles, which runs through marvelous rocks and steep cliffs. As a study place for Zhuangyuan(No. 1 Scholar) Zou Yinglong of the Southern Song Dynasty(1127—1179), Zhuangyuan Rock became known as a unique Confucian rock culture of Taining. Arhat Mountain is an excellent spot to overlook the beautiful sights of Golden Lake. In Taining ancient town, there exists ancient buildings from the Ming Dynasty(1368—1644)—a house for the Minister of War, which is one of the best preserved ancient homes in south of the Yangtze River.
    Great Golden Lake is linked with Sun and Moon Lake in Taiwan.
    Connected by water like a thread, links between the two lakes show the deep love that exists across the Straits.
