Dear Mr. Major,
    As a citizen of our city, I am very much concern with the engraving problem of air pollution in our city. Especially in recent year, with the rapid development of economy, air quality in our city is rapidly deteriorating.
    According to my investigation, there are two major sources of pollution. The most serious pollution is caused by vehicles. As more and more vehicles such as cars, buses, trucks, and motor bicycles are running in the city, they have been polluting the air. To alleviate this problem, the municipal government should make rules to enough the popularization of environment- friendly cat and gasoline. The second source of air pollution is from construction sites. Most of the construction sites take no measures to control the dirty dust and the areas nearby are blanketed with thick dust, Therefore; regulations should be made to force the constructors to regulate their operations so as to reduce dust.
    With all the measures and regulations, and with the joint efforts of all the citizens, I am very optimistic that we will have fresh and clear air soon. I also avail myself of this letter to call upon all citizens to take part in the campaign against air pollution in our city.
