    The very beginning of the 21st century witnessed the establishment of many Confucius Colleges in foreign countries. These colleges are mainly involved in the efforts to teach Chinese language and to disseminate Chinese culture to the world.
    Many people believe that the founding of these Confucius Colleges is propitious to the Chinese people’s renaissance. Firstly, it becomes a hallmark of Chinese people’s sense of pride and helps Chinese people to rediscover themselves. Furthermore, it can also help the world have a better understanding of Chinese people and Chinese culture as well as current policies of Chinese people so as to create a harmonious environment for China’s further development.
    However, there are different voices from the world about the establishment of the Confucius Colleges abroad. Some welcome this new phenomenon as a contribution to the diversity of the world, while others view it as a form of cultural invasion and as a threat to the world. This is quite normal for there are always two kinds of people in the world who take different attitudes towards China’s development. What’s the best in such a situation is to take full advantages of the Confucius Colleges to promote the world’s understanding of China and thus to change the second attitude to China.
