    Recently there is a rather loud voice in the society that English should be excluded from College Entrance Examination. People hold the view that students should be free to choose their own majors. If the major is not relevant to English, they needn’t learn English and pass the test.
    Meanwhile, the opposite voice argues that English examination should not be cancelled. The reason is that as a modern talent, every college student should grasp English to broaden horizon and communicate with the world.
    Combining the two opinions above and my own thinking, I firmly insist that English examination should not be cancelled. The reasons are as follows. Firstly, College Entrance Examination is the most influential test in China and hence it acts as a guide to make people emphasize the importance of English. Secondly, English itself is a significant tool to acquire knowledge. Thirdly, English learning can enhance intelligence. Therefore, it should not be cancelled.
