    In the picture above, a doctor, holding a bottle of tablets in his hand, is trying to sell a drug to a desperately sick duck, saying " all your health problems can be solved with these little patented pills. " Miraculously, the duck could quack and flap with satisfaction immediately after taking the pill as if he were recovered.
    The irony is directed at the false advertising or deceptive advertising. In most cases, false advertising leads the consumer to believe that he is somehow profiting from a purchase, but actually, the advantage is all on the side of the advertiser. What’s more, some of the false advertising even disregards public safety and promotes products with defective quality. A ready example would be the milk powder scandal which broke out a couple of years ago, in which top-quality products claimed in the advertisements turned out to be unqualified ones with illegal additives, resulting in many malnourished infants and even several deaths.
    Undoubtedly, manufacturers should take most of the blame, yet the media could by no means escape its due condemnation. In fact, the media should be a guardian for the public against shoddy goods rather than an accomplice with the latter.
