There has also been report about several cities planning to construct scenic spots about the same celebrity and each calling itself the hometown of this celebrity before being universally recognized.
    One may ask why there are battles over celebrity’s hometowns. Basically there are two reasons. The first and most important reason is that once a city is recognized as a celebrity’s hometown, many more tourists will visit this city, thus promoting economic development in this place. The second reason is that being a celebrity’s hometown usually help to raise a city’s nationwide recognition as well as earn this city more financial support. This can also help to accelerate economic development in this city.
    In my opinion, being recognized as a celebrity’s hometown is certainly nice. However, there are also many other ways to develop cities besides competing for the celebrity’s hometown.
