    "God helps those who help themselves." is a famous saying that reminds us of the magnitude of being independent in our life. It’s true that our future depends on many factors, while attitude, determination and hard work play the most important roles. In other words, we are the master of our own future and we must rely on ourselves.
    Examples of independent figures are far from a minority in the world. A case in point is Zhang Haidi, a Chinese Helen Keller. Her relentless efforts turned the almost paralyzed Zhang Haidi into a well-accomplished figure whose achievements would dwarf those of many normal people. Even today, Zhang Haidi is regarded as one of the most inspiring figures in the world.
    In fact, no one will achieve anything if he depends too much on others. Thinking of those self-made men around us, we may be well aware of the importance of depending on ourselves. Just as a saying goes, "Everyone is the architect of his own future. " We ourselves are the only ones that we can and ought to rely on.
