问题     Fifteen years ago Masco, a small family firm, suddenly grew fast. As it grew, the management realized that changes were needed. However, they still wanted to keep the advantages of a small family firm.
    Originally, all company stuff【B1】______to either the Production or the Administration department. However as the firm grew, the Administration department was【B2】______for too many different kinds of jobs. Therefore, this department was【B3】______by separate ones:【B4】______,【B5】______, Despatch and Sales. Sales was then further reorganized as Sales and Customer Service. Customer Service now employs more people than any other department in the company.
    Most heads of new departments were appointed from inside the company. To assist the work of the existing head of department, both Production and Accounts recruited more staff at【B6】______level.
    Senior staff were worried that their work would increase the changes. In fact, it decreased, because several processes became quicker and easier when staff were given the power to make decisions them selves. On thc othcr hand, some staff were【B7】______that【B8】______didn’t lead to higher salaries.
    Managing Director of Masco says,【B9】______We thought it would take at least 2 years to solve all our problems. 【B10】______It will probably be another 6 months, though, before we feel fully confident.【B11】______On the whole, we’re quite satisfied. Although overheads have increased slightly, the Sales department has brought in a lot of new business and productivity is up considerably. The future looks good !" [br] 【B7】
