    With the development of modern transportation and communication, it is inevitable for people with different backgrounds and values to experience cultural exchange. However, people differ in their opinions on this phenomenon.
    Some people tend to believe that cultural exchange is of great significance. In the modern world, no advanced culture has been an isolated phenomenon. All cultures are the products of extensive exchanges with other cultures. However, some other people point out that overemphasis on exchange will deprive different cultures of their own distinctive features, which are the real charm of cultures.
    Speaking for myself, I think we will not lose our own culture to a foreign one by adopting the principle of eliminating the false and retaining the true, rejecting the dross and assimilating the essence. Anyhow, by no means should we isolate ourselves from others.
