    In the picture, most people go to the public library for shallow reading like celebrity biography. Few of them head for the deep end to enjoy the beauty of poetry. Clearly, the picture tries to remind us that nowadays the majority of people would not like to read poetry any more.
    However, we do benefit a lot from reading this sort of artistic work left by our ancestors. For one thing, poems are organised combination of fine words and concise sentences with deep insights into life. We can always find inspiration and life philosophy in poetry. For another, the modern society is ruled by pragmatism and everyone seems in a rush in their pursuit of "happiness", yet poetry offers us a peaceful mind to slow down and enjoy the beauty of life.
    Considering the problem reflected by the picture, I think we should advocate poetry-reading not only in the public libraries, but also in schools of different levels. Only by doing so, can we protect this great work of humans from being neglected.
