    In the cartoon, many automobiles, like a host of pests, are chewing up a green leaf bit by bit. From the drawing we can easily identify what the author intends to convey: As emissions from millions of vehicles on the road increase, exhaust fumes become the major polluter.
    Along with the growth of economy, China has witnessed more and more automobiles running on the streets. As a result, many cities suffer from severe air pollution due to gas emissions. Needless to say, automotive emissions not only cause severe environmental problems, but potentially do harm to people’s health.
    In my opinion, a wide array of solutions should be adopted to address this issue. First, the government should raise the public’s awareness of environmental protection and encourage the use of eco-friendly automobiles. Second, every citizen is duty-bound to protect the environment. In a nutshell, it is imperative that both authorities and individuals take joint efforts to combat air pollution from traffic fumes.
