    In this picture, a mother is curious about her daughter’s privacy, while her daughter wants to keep her own privacy, unwilling to be probed into. It is quite common in Chinese families that parents always want to probe into the privacy of their children in the name of love and protection. Under such circumstances, children always feel uncomfortable.
    From my personal perspective, we should protect children’s privacy. First of all, children are independent human beings; parents should respect their right to privacy. Secondly, invasion of children’s privacy would hurt their self-esteem, shake their confidence and worsen the parent-child relationship. Thirdly, children need a relatively free space for their spiritual development and parents should never deprive them of this right.
    As far as I am concerned, one’s privacy, boy or girl, young or old, should be well protected. Parents should never infringe upon their kids’ privacy in the name of love.
