    "Pride goes before a fall" is such a well-known proverb that 1 believe all of us are familiar with it. Personally speaking, I fully agree with it. The meaning of this proverb can be justified in the following three aspects.
    First, if you allow yourself to take too much pride in your temporary achievements, you will stop working hard and no longer will you make any progress. In this case, you will probably fail soon. Second, history has taught us that most great men are characterized by admirable modesty, which, as far as I am concerned, is vital to their success. Third, there is no need to be proud of any achievement for a long period as life is never short of obstacles and we had better keep vigilant all the time.
    This is an age when most people are hardworking in the face of fierce competition. Thus it is necessary to be modest. If we stay modest all along, we can make progress constantly and our life will be more meaningful.
