Hi Pat,
    I would like to request a change in my working hours. I currently work the morning shift, Monday through Friday. If possible, I would like to work the afternoon shift on at least three days of each week.

    In response to your e-mail asking to change your shift, I’m afraid we do not usually allow employees to mix morning and afternoon shifts. As you will see in the staff handbook, there is a section explaining the rules about changing shifts. However, I should add that we can sometimes make special exceptions for staff who have a particular problem related to family commitments. Would you mind telling me the main reason or circumstances for your requesting to change your shift like this?
