However, there have been concerns raised by local environmental groups about the potential for damage to the desert ecosystem. The plants and animals that live in the Hodgson Desert, they say, depend on a very fragile balance of natural conditions. The increased traffic that ECV-12 will bring into it threatens to upend that balance. On the whole, though, environmentalists say they are pleased to see such serious investment being made in clean, renewable solar energy.

While reading, though, I did note a few issues I feel need to be addressed. For instance, you say the project will utilize photovoltaic solar technology, but this is incorrect. The primary technology to be featured at the ECV-12 facility will be thermoelectric. Also, new estimates recently confirmed by government scientists suggest that the electricity generated will provide for as much as 80% of the region’s electricity needs.
    And finally, I was most troubled by your mention of negative reactions on the part of environmental groups. The people who have expressed concerns about damage to the desert ecosystem represent a very small minority, and most environmental organizations have endorsed our efforts.
