    Recently, a piece of news has caused the wide concern among the public . It was reported that all students in Jiangning District of Nanjing are required to wear a unified style of uniform. This practice was questioned by many people. To them, schools should show greater appreciation of individuality instead of conformity. The requirement of the unified style of school uniform is killing the individuality of the youth. I can’t share their ideas. As for me, the unified school uniform is absolutely necessary in the age of individuality.
    In the first place, giving teenagers the right to choose their own clothes is just only a tiny part of individuality cultivation. To inspire and foster originality, teachers and parents should allow children to challenge their authority ; schools should encourage any brilliant new ideas; the society should listen to their voice. In the second place, many young people are misunderstanding the concept of individuality. To them, individuality is to do everything differently without concerning about the ethical standards, rules and laws. When they are going after their idea of individuality, they are actually at the risk of being ego-centric. Then the unified school uniform is the first step to guide them back, as it is the symbol of group and tells them everyone is part of the society.
    Therefore, the unified school uniform should be popularized in every school and show our children the right individuality in the society.
