For example, there is a type of corn that kills insects that feed on it, so farmers use fewer pesticides to grow the corn, and there is less pollution to the environment. Also the corn is less expensive because farmers don’t have to spend much money on pesticides.
Genetically modified food grow well despite harsh conditions. One example is a type of genetically modified strawberry that can grow in cold weather. Farmers can plant this of strain strawberries earlier in the spring and later in the fall, when ordinary strawberries could not grow.
Genetically modified food stays fresh for a longer time. There is more time for delivery and sales, so less food is thrown away and wasted.
