答案    Empty-nest is a thought-provoking social phenomenon. Nowadays, a majority of the aged in China have the empty-nest syndrome which means that the aged have no family members to accompany with so that they feel lonely and helpless.
   There are two reasons accounting for this phenomenon. First and foremost, the wide existence of the empty-nest syndrome mainly results from many people’ s occupation of personal affairs, especially in work and children’s education, which leads to their having no time caring for their old parents and even neglecting them. Besides, young people nowadays are not aware of the importance of accompanying their parents. They just forget the fact that being filial to one’s parents is the most critical virtue of a person. They just live their own wonderful life and ignore their parents who gave them life, brought them up and concern about them every day.
   As far as I am concerned, empty-nest syndrome is immoral and distressful. It is well-known that caring the aged is not only the traditional virtue cherished by Chinese but also a duty laid down in the constitution. Therefore, we should make efforts to promote moral education, and obey the regulations and laws. Only in these ways can we ensure a better life for the aged.
