(3) Police have arrested two people outside Istanbul’s Dolmabache—an Ottoman-era palace that is a major tourist attraction, after a shooting incident.  Gunfire was heard outside the palace, which is also home to the Prime Minister’s Istanbul offices, with surrounding roads being sealed off by police. The two unknown shooters were carrying automatic guns and grenades, according to police officers at the scene. (4) It is understood that the first shots were aimed at security officers outside the palace. There are no reports of casualties.
    Officers said the two suspects belonged to a terrorist group, but would not specify which one. The incident comes amid an escalation of violence between Turkey’s security forces and Kurdish rebels and as Turkey has been conducting operations against terror groups including the Islamic State group.
