    Should old people stay with their children or go to the nursing homes?
    Some hold that old people should stay at home. For one thing, the young are obliged to repay the care and love they once received from the old. For another, the old may help with some housework and gain a sense of achievement, which is important for their mental and physical health.
    By contrast, some argue that old people should be placed in nursing homes, where they can not only have opportunities to communicate and have fun with their peers, hut also be treated by professional doctors and nurses. Furthermore, with the old staying in nursing homes, the young may have more time and energy to devote to their own careers.
    In my view, the decision should be made with all factors fully considered. Above all, the opinion of the old should be respected. They themselves should be the ones who make the decision, not the young.
