    Even though I am young, I have experienced many ups and downs in my daily life. I have tasted both the sweetness of successes and the bitterness of failures. All of these experiences tell me that with determination and efforts, people can conquer everything.
    Recently, I took part in an English debate which again proves my conclusion. At the very beginning, when I was assigned to this task, I was so reluctant and nervous. For one thing, I am timid in front of the public; for another, I am not confident about my oral English. Anyhow, I had to carry out this task since I was chosen. Refreshing my mind, I began to prepare for the coming debate. I surfed the Internet for the relevant evidence of my argument and practiced my oral English every morning. I even invited my classmates to conduct a mock debate with me. All of these efforts really got me somewhere. My eloquence and convincing evidence won the applause from teachers and the classmates. The title of the best debater concluded my participation in this debate.
